I have waited a few days to write anything on Director of F.B.I. Comey testifying for the House. I have watched it twice.
The first time I ever heard of James Comey, was when he testified in the investigation re: Alberto Gonzales trying to take advantage of then Attorney General, John Ashcroft. It was a classic case of “speaking truth to power.” I found him to be credible, very detailed oriented and confident. His political party didn't mean a thing to me. I felt he did an admirable thing and testified truthfully. He seemed a man filled with integrity and a true patriot.
I was pleased when President Obama selected him as Director of the F.B.I. By the time he was appointed, I did find out his part affiliation was Republican. It was a good choice, I thought.
Fast forward to his testimony on Monday re: Trump and his campaign's ties to Russia investigation. I was not surprised there was an investigation, as all I heard from MSM was Trump's many ties to Russia. After thinking about it and doing some research, it made sense that the investigation began in July 2016. Paul Manafort came on board in April and ran the show for Trump for 3 ½ months. The MSM kept harping on his previous ties to Russia and Putin. Manafort finally left the campaign in August 2016. This is who I believe was under investigation and how Trump got caught on tape.
What disturbs me most was Comey felt no need to tell the public Trump's Campaign was under investigation. I believe in July 2016, Comey did that press conference that said there would be no indictment of H.R.C. He then proceeded to rip her apart for 20 minutes. He was explaining, she was guilty but he had no proof. Her credibility was torn to shreds but no indictment.
We all know about his October surprise. Coming out to announce she was under investigation due to her ties with Weiner. Again, the MSM kept saying, the F.B.I. does not usually comment on open investigations. Then 2 weeks later he came out again to say they found nothing.
Now he has come out and told the country, Trump and his campaign is under investigation. Again, I felt it was NOT the right thing to do. As much as I dislike Trump and Bannon, I knew it would hurt the US credibility in the World. The fact that the F.B.I
doesn't comment on ongoing investigations ( haha) I wish Comey would stop commenting on any investigations.
Now we have the leader of the committee investigating the Trump campaign, leaking information to a non member of the committee and the President. History does repeat itself. I remember leaks leading to Watergate, Clinton's Impeachment and now the investigation of Trump and his campaign. Watergate was a “crime.” Clinton was having sex (lying under oath), and Trump and his campaign is being investigated for possible collusion and influencing the out of an election. Not any election, the Presidential Election. There is a problem with this picture.
I am not mentioning Iran-Contra under Reagan but it was a crime whether I agreed with the program or not.
